Obituary for Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Zimmer (Ricci)
Mary Louise Ricci Zimmer, 91, of Athens, passed away Friday morning, November 8, 2019.
She was a native of Pittsburgh, PA and a longtime resident of Athens. She was a daughter of the late John G. and Priscilla Francis Ricci. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Robert T. (Bob) Zimmer, a sister Jane Edwards and a brother Jack Ricci.
She was a 1947 graduate of Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, PA, where she was a member of the SBCs.
She was a longtime member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church of Athens. Mary Lou was associated with 1st National Bank in Athens for 30 years in the Loan Dept.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Mike Corash of Kingsport and Kim and Richie Parker of Knoxville; a son and his spouse, Bill and Debbie Zimmer of Niota; two granddaughters and their spouses, Lindsay and Brandon Statum and Molly and Chase Clounch; two grandsons, Matthew Melton and Chase Parker; and one great-grandson, Bryant Statum.
A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. David Graybeal officiating. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Melton, Brandon Statum, Chase Parker, Chase Clounch, Neal Stoczynski, Bruce Edwards, and Bryant Statum.
The family suggests memorials be made to Keith Memorial United Methodist Church of Athens or Athens/McMinn YMCA.
